Da vinci and Munich review

If you have read the da vinci code dont bother to watch the movie. I didn't know that Tom Hanks could act so bad. The only positive was that I know have a picture of the french pyramids in front of my eyes when I think about the book. They have even managed to ruin one of the most sensitive character from the movie the albino monk. They have failed to portray his inner pain and just focussed on the rituals.

As for Munich it is a thoughtfull movie. Slow and steady but it didnt hit me as hard as I expected it to. It sort of looss the punch in the end depicting only panoroia instead of guilt. Its still definately worth a see as you can easily picturise yourself as one of the leading protagonists.

  • I haven't watched either movie, but was looking forward to Da Vinci Code. I found the book really exciting. Ofcourse one thing I've noticed is that none of the movies come up to the standard of the books they're based on... After all when reading our imagination can take us anywhere, but the movies can't do that.

  • this is wierd!
i thought that the movie (da vinci code) was really good..especially after having read the book!
and i was telling someone today over lunch...have we fallen into a cult of complaining about movies...i guess the thing about movies is that one creates a mental image in their mind and if things match up, then great, if not, then boo!
or perhaps my standards are falling alot! :)
    cheers
